Statins reduce mortality in patients with COVID-19: an updated meta-analysis of 147,824 patients
The current coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) pandemic, which is caused by severe acute respiratory coronavirus-2 (SARS-CoV-2), remains a major public health problem across the globe, despite the availability of vaccines (Hamed et al., 2021). In the meantime, we continue to need effective pharmacological therapies that reduce the morbidity and mortality of patients with COVID-19.
