Integrating Leadership Competencies in Clinical Didactic Curricula: The Mock Tumor Board

Developing leadership competencies has been identified as an essential part of graduate medical education1 that has oft been neglected with minimal dedicated didactic programs. A few ad hoc programs have been created at individual residency programs,2,3 but the current limits on extra didactic time in many curricula preclude robust implementation of dedicated leadership didactics. As attending radiation oncologists, we are expected to advocate for our patients at multi-disciplinary tumor boards in which we are almost certainly in the minority.
