How ' surge testing ' and genomic sequencing are being used in locations in England where coronavirus (COVID-19) variants have been identified. 26 July 2021Updated to remove testing in the areas Cumbria County Council, Slough Borough Council, City of Bradford, Metropolitan District Council, Leeds City Council and Wakefield Council. 19 July 2021Removed Lambeth Council (targeted areas) from the list of locations using surge testing. Also updated to reflect the lifting of national restrictions as part of step 4 of the roadmap.
