Determination of risk factors associated with acute kidney injury during delivery or the postpartum period

By a retrospective case control study, Coles et al [1] determined the risk factors associated with acute kidney injury (AKI) during delivery or the postpartum period. As pregnancy-related AKI has been associated with increased maternal and fetal morbidity and mortality [2], their study has the potential implications. However, there are several issues in the method and results of this study on which we wish to invite the authors to comment.
