Peritoneal calcification in a patient on peritoneal dialysis

A 51-year-old nondiabetic woman with end-stage kidney disease on peritoneal dialysis for 18 years presented with diarrhea. Her medical history was notable for an episode of Staphylococcus warneri peritonitis, which was successfully treated with i.p. vancomycin and amikacin. She also had a past episode of mycobacterium tuberculous peritonitis 15 years ago, which was treated with antitubercular agents. The patient was anuric for the last 10 years and was dialyzing with 2 L into 4 exchanges of Dianeal solution (Tamil Nadu; sodium chloride with dextrose).
