Discrimination, stress linked to poorer heart health in transgender, gender diverse adults

(American Heart Association) Higher levels of heart disease among transgender and gender diverse (TGD) people are linked to the stress of experiencing discrimination and transphobia at personal and societal levels.Additional training is recommended for clinicians and health care professionals in addressing the full diversity of gender in health care settings and in the recognition of health disparities faced by TGD people to improve health outcomes.
