ConclusionsRP could confer better survival outcomes than could RT in mPCa patients with favorable primary tumor features, but not in those with advanced primary tumor features. Moreover, the metastatic substage has limited impact on the comparative effectiveness between RP and RT. Further clinical trials are necessary to confirm the present results.

Madam — We read with interest the article by Francolini et al. [1] examining the recurrence patterns following stereotactic body radiotherapy (SBRT) in patients with nodal pelvic relapse of prostate cancer. The authors concluded that local treatment can be safely avoided in patients with prostate cance r treated with radical prostatectomy, given the rarity of prostate bed recurrence and the encouraging results of nodal SBRT in the event of recurrence. However, we do have some concerns.

In this study, a multiplatform metabolomics and lipidomics approach, combining untargeted mass spectrometry (MS) and nuclear magnetic resonance (NMR)-based techniques, was applied to PCa tissues to investigate dysregulations associated with PCa development, in a cohort of 40 patients submitted to radical prostatectomy for PCa.
