‘Functional Capabilities after First Metatarsal Phalangeal Joint Arthrodesis Using a Locking Plate and Compression Screw Construct.’

This study aims to explore the functional limitations following first MTPJ arthrodesis, overall satisfaction and patient's abilities to achieve activities of daily living (ADL). This prospective cohort study assessed functional limitations as well as footwear and lifestyle restrictions using several questionnaires. One hundred and three participants who had a first MTPJ arthrodesis under the care of a single surgeon were recruited.
