We read with great interest the case report article entitled “Hypoglycemia Worsened After Glucose Administration: A Case of Hypoglycemia Years After Gastric Surgery” by McManus et al. (1). We are grateful that the authors have highlighted the increasingly encountered syndrome of postprandial hypoglycemia. Whereas the term NIPHS (non-insulinoma pancreatog enous hypoglycemia syndrome) was previously employed, this syndrome is now typically referred to as post-bariatric hypoglycemia (PBH), as it most commonly follows bariatric surgical procedures, including gastric bypass and sleeve gastrectomy, as well as other upper gastrointestinal surgeries such as fundoplication, esophagectomy, and gastrectomy (2).
