Coronavirus lockdown: Excessive alcohol consumption and illicit substance use in DUI subjects
CONCLUSIONS: Chronic excessive alcohol consumption and illicit substance use were more frequently observed in cases, which suggests a possible correlation between the pandemic/lockdown restrictions and an increase in psychoactive substance misuse. While these potentially correlative factors are discussed in this article, they require further study. If confirmed, the results should be considered in forensic and clinical settings.PMID:34037479 | DOI:10.1080/15389588.2021.1923701
