Teaching Effective Informed Consent Communication Skills in the Virtual Surgical Clerkship
We developed a virtual curriculum to teach the process of obtaining informed consent to medical students in the setting of the COVID-19 pandemic. 88% of students surveyed reported an increase in competency in at least 1 communication domain post-activity but remarked on its inability to replace in-person clinical encounters.
