Imaging the spine

The spine can be assessed using different imaging modalities, each offering their own advantages and limitations. The decision to use a certain type of imaging should be based on a number of factors which include the clinical question to be answered, the speed that answer is needed, the availability of an imaging modality and patient compatibility. We aim to discuss how to best use imaging when investigating spinal pathologies, consider the advantages and limitations of each imaging modality and demonstrate annotated examples of pathology on imaging.
