Red blood cell distribution width is associated with frailty in older inpatients in China: Sex differences in a cross-sectional study

CONCLUSIONS: An increased RDW among older inpatients was more strongly associated with a corresponding increased risk of frailty in women compared than in men. Our findings suggest that there were sex differences in the association between elevated RDW levels and frailty among older inpatients. These results may provide support for the intervention decision-making.PMID:33965555 | DOI:10.1016/j.exger.2021.111392
