Surge testing for new coronavirus (COVID-19) variants, DHSC (updated 30th April 2021)

How ' surge testing ' and genomic sequencing are being used in locations in England where COVID-19 variants have been identified.

30 April 2021 Updated to include Redbridge Council (targeted areas within the IG1 and IG6 postcode areas and small parts of the IG5 and IG7 postcode areas) in the locations using surge testing. 28 April 2021 Updated to remove all London areas from the locations that are using surge testing and removed all locations that have completed surge testing.
