68Ga-FAPI-PET/CT improves diagnostic staging and radiotherapy planning of Adenoid Cystic Carcinomas – imaging analysis and histological validation
Adenoid cystic carcinoma (ACC) is a rare epithelial tumor mostly situated in the head and neck region (1,2). ACC is characterized by slow, but relentless growth with progressive infiltration of surrounding structures and perineural invasion (2,3). Despite their protracted clinical course, there is a significant risk of late recurrence and distant metastases, resulting in a 10-year overall survival rate of 39-70% (4).
