HHS: Practice Guidelines for the Administration of Buprenorphine for Treating Opioid Use Disorder

Notice from the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) issuing practice guidelines allowing eligible practitioners to treat up to 30 patients with opioid use disorder (OUD) using buprenorphine without having to meet certain federal certification requirements related to training, counseling, and other ancillary services. This guidance is intended to expand access to buprenorphine for OUD treatment. This guidance is effective April 28, 2021.
