Ossifying low grade endometrial stromal sarcoma with PHF1-BRD8 fusion
Low grade endometrial stromal sarcomas (LG-ESS) are rare. They are composed of uniform, cellular, oval to spindle-shaped uterine mesenchymal cells of endometrial stromal type, surrounding a delicate network of spiral arterioles. Fibromyxoid variants have occasionally been reported.[1, 2] Before the identification of specific chromosomal translocations, CD10 protein expression detection was considered the most reliable marker of LG-ESS.[3] LG-ESS are known to contain a variety of unique genetic events.
