Use of Thrombin Generation to Guide Therapy in Trauma Patients

One of the most prevalent causes of preventable death in trauma is injury-induced coagulopathy. This is described by the inability of trauma patients to form clot and overall hypocoagulability.1,2 Despite the high prevalence of this problem in rapidly bleeding patients, the majority of them paradoxically present with elevated thrombin generation (TG).2
