IHS Awards $16 Million in Grants to Combat the Opioid Epidemic in Indian Country

The Indian Health Service announced their award of $16 million to tribes, tribal organizations, and urban Indian organizations to combat the opioid epidemic as part of the 2021 Community Opioid Intervention Pilot Project. Thirty-five grants were awarded to support innovative approaches and culturally relevant services addressing opioid use disorder in American Indian and Alaska Native communities.
