Effects of dehydroepiandrosterone (DHEA) on follicular dynamics in a diminished ovarian reserve in vivo model.

In conclusion, our findings suggest that DHEA administration in DOR rats due to VCD results in a larger follicular pool. Decreased atresia may be one of the possible effects of DHEA in DOR cases. Whatever the mechanism, DHEA treatment potentially may be useful clinically as a means to increase the number of gonadotropin-responsive follicles for ovarian stimulation. Since the genetic determinants in the pathogenesis of PA remain elusive, a thorough identification of the genetic factors through whole exome sequencing (WES) will provide novel insights into underlying mechanisms of PA. We performed WES data from PA/VSD (n=60), PA/IVS(n=20...

Conclusions: All patients enjoyed improvement in AC PTA after surgery (preoperative minus the best postoperative PTA, mean = 34 dB, range = 3.3–52 dB). Hearing declined by an average 8.2 dB over the long-term leaving a final average AC PTA of 37.4 dB HL. Sixty-four percent of patients exhibited stable (

Palliation of patients with hypoplastic left heart syndrome remains challenging. Although coronary ischemia can be catastrophic, the prevalence and pathologies of anomalies of the coronary arteries remains unknown. We reviewed 119 specimens with the features of hypoplastic left heart syndrome, focusing our attention on the aortic root and the coronary arteries. We found 36 (30%) specimens with the combination of mitral and aortic atresia, 26 (22%) with mitral and aortic stenosis, and 57 (48%) with mitral stenosis combined with aortic atresia.

ConclusionDetection of hepatic subcapsular, capsular flows on US would be meaningful for children after receiving the Kasai operation.Key Points• Hepatic subcapsular or capsular flows can be useful not only for the diagnosis but also for the postoperative follow-up in patients with biliary atresia.• Increased liver stiffness and splenomegaly after the Kasai operation were associated with presence of subcapsular or capsular flow on ultrasonography.• Evaluation of hepatic subcapsular and capsular flows could be needed to assess disease progression after receiving the Kasai operation.

Pulmonary atresia with VSD is one of the complex CHD subsets that requires a meticulous understanding of anatomy, physiology of pulmonary circulation. It can be termed as TAPAC -Total anomalous pulmonary arterial connection in extreme cases. Should we attempt to reverse this total chaotic pulmonary blood supply is the question? It demands a highly focused cath study(hands &brain) and CT Imaging which might actually throw more light. Post-study Interaction with surgeon and team of cardiologist are vital. The decision to take up the challenge of surgery or abandoning poses equal intellectual stress. Continuous and critic...
