Namibia: Domestic Savings Up Amid Pandemic

[New Era] Namibia's total domestic savings as a ratio of GDP is estimated to have increased to 18.5% in 2020, from 11.9% in the preceding year, despite some significant dissaving by the government. This is according to the Bank of Namibia (BoN) annual report for 2020, launched last week, which indicated that national savings are critical in any economy as they contribute to investment funding, which in turn stimulates economic growth.
