FTC sues to block Illumina's $7.1B purchase of Menlo Park-based Grail

The Federal Trade Commission on Tuesday moved to block Illumina's planned $7.1 billion purchase of cancer detection startup Grail Inc. The acquisition would weaken innovation in the development of tests that can detect multiple types of cancer in their early stages, the agency said in a press release.
