Distance to Isocenter is not associated with an increased risk for Local Failure in LINAC-based Single-Isocenter Stereotactic Radiosurgery (SRS) or Radiotherapy (SRT) for Multiple Brain Metastases

Brain metastases develop in up to 20-40 % of patients with solid cancer and represent a challenging situation for optimal management [1,2]. Intracranial stereotactic irradiation as either radiosurgery (SRS) or stereotactic radiotherapy (SRT) is a widely used treatment modality and has been established as the standard of care for patients with up to 4 brain metastases [3,4]. In patients with multiple brain metastases WBRT is still the treatment of choice but evidence for the use of SRT is growing [5 –7].
