How Are Adolescents Sleeping? Conservative Estimates of Sleep Duration Underestimate the Problem
In their recent article, Gariepy et al. [1] provided an overview of adolescents' sleep patterns from a cross-national comparative perspective. They reported estimates of the percentage of adolescents meeting the minimum norm of 8 hours of sleep per night across 24 countries in Europe and North America. Percentages ranged from 32% i n Poland to 86% in Flemish Belgium on school days and from 79% in Greece to 92% in Flemish Belgium on nonschool days.
