Procedural benefit for asymptomatic carotid stenosis is wishful thinking

Recently, Paraskevas et  al1 published an editorial encouraging us to follow the guideline recommendations from the Society for Vascular Surgery (SVS)2 and European Society for Vascular Surgery (ESVS)3 for the management of asymptomatic carotid stenosis (ACS).
