Use of contraception before and after a diabetes diagnosis: An observational matched cohort study
Diabetes affects over 3% of reproductive-age women in the United States (U.S.), with increasing prevalence over time [1] and even higher prevalence among Black, Asian, Hispanic, and low-income populations [1,2]. Over the last decade, an increasing number of pregnancies have been complicated by pre-existing diabetes [1] and gestational diabetes [3,4]. Diabetes is now the most common medical condition complicating pregnancy [5,6].
