UofL, Medtronic to develop epidural stimulation algorithms for spinal cord injury

(University of Louisville) Use of epidural stimulation for spinal cord injury is one step closer to use outside the research lab thanks to a $7.8-million grant from the NIH for work at UofL's Kentucky Spinal Cord Injury Research Center, in collaboration with medical device manufacturer Medtronic, to develop and test software applications specifically designed for spinal cord injury that work with Medtronic's spinal cord stimulator.
