EPID-based 3D dosimetry for pre-treatment FFF VMAT stereotactic body radiotherapy plan verification using dosimetry CheckTM

Stereotactic body radiotherapy (SBRT) treatment is a radiotherapy technique in which very high dose is delivered in a short fractionation scheme with steep dose gradients and the use of small fields. The use of photon flattening filter free (FFF) beams has grown over recent years, especially for SBRT. Higher dose rates with a higher dose per pulse reduce delivery time with benefits in terms of patient discomfort and potential intra-fraction motion. Moreover, FFF beams showed decreases in the head scatter and dose outside the field [1,2].
