Intrafraction motion monitoring to determine PTV margins in early stage breast cancer patients receiving neoadjuvant partial breast SABR

The current treatment standard for early-stage breast cancer patients is lumpectomy followed by adjuvant whole breast radiotherapy (RT) over 4-6 weeks [1]. However, this treatment time is prohibitively long for many patients, particularly rural patients, resulting in a lack of patients returning for their radiotherapy [2,3]. As such, early stage breast cancer research is focused on reducing the treatment time to reduce the emotional and physical burden on patients without compromising efficacy of treatment.
