In conclusion, the prevalence of dental caries and periodontal disease among pregnant women in this study were relatively high. The presence of untreated dental caries, moderate and severe gingivitis, and periodontal pockets were significantly associated with their corresponding oral symptoms.

Conclusion: Results from this study demonstrate the need to understand barriers to full enrollment in preventive oral health programs. Particular attention should be given to cultural differences between the program providers and the local residents. Preventative oral health program organizers need to explore multiple communication options to notify parents of upcoming programs. PMID: 33008948 [PubMed - as supplied by publisher]
Conclusion: Results from this study showed that Hispanic seasonal farmworkers have a desire to maintain their children's oral health. However, they lacked knowledge in some key concepts related to the disease process and prevention of ECC. Caregivers need additional oral health education with consideration for oral health literacy. CONCLUSIONS: Because veterans are more likely to originate from groups at a higher risk for poor oral health (older adults, smokers, males, diabetics), the prevalence of adverse oral health conditions are higher among veterans compared to nonveterans. Overall, military service is not associated with PD or untreated dental caries but is associated with indicators suggesting veterans have had more dental treatment (FT and DMFT). There is substantial unmet oral health care need primarily related to periodontitis among veterans. PMID: 33007064 [PubMed - as supplied by publisher]
ConclusionsMost older men viewed their oral health positively, and the majority of those with objectively assessed needs, did not perceive themselves as requiring dental treatment. Loss of FTUs appears to alert participants to seek treatment, but not the presence of dental caries or periodontitis.

AbstractPurposeTo compare the effectiveness of topical fluoride —antibacterial agent combined therapy versus topical fluoride monotherapy in preventing dental caries among 1- to 16-year-old children.MethodsPubMed, EbscoHost, Scopus, Web of Science and the Cochrane Central Register of Controlled Trials were searched for randomised controlled trials. The trials should have assessed the caries-preventive effectiveness of topical fluoride-antibacterial agent (Povidone Iodine/Chlorhexidine/Xylitol/Triclosan/Cetylpyridinium Chloride) combined therapy versus topical fluoride monotherapy among children. Out of 347...
