Primary renal angiosarcoma with lymph node metastasis – a rare intriguing malignancy with a grim outcome
Malignant mesenchymal tumors of the adult kidney constituting leiomyosarcoma, angiosarcoma, rhabdomyosarcoma, osteosarcoma, synovial sarcoma, and Ewing sarcoma1 encompass only 0.8 to 2.7% of all renal tumors but harbinger poorer prognosis. 2, 3 Primary angiosarcomas of the kidney are extremely rare localized/ multicentric highly aggressive tumors that cannot be differentiated from renal cell carcinomas clinically/ radiologically. The pathological examination definitively determines the diagnosis.
