68Ga-fibroblast activation protein inhibitor PET/CT on gross tumour volume delineation for radiotherapy planning of oesophageal cancer

With approximately 570,000 new diagnoses and 500,000 mortalities in 2018, oesophageal cancer is the 6th leading cause of cancer-associated death worldwide with increased incidence over the past decade [1,2]. Squamous cell carcinoma(SCC) is the major histological type ofoesophageal cancerin the central and south-east Asian region, and adenocarcinoma is the most common form in northern and western Europe, North America and Oceania [3]. More than half of the patients with newly diagnosed oesophageal cancer lose the opportunity to undergo surgery because of the advanced stage [4].
