Understanding important factors for arrhythmogenicity associated with transcatheter aortic valve implantation including left bundle branch block

We read with interest the multicentre prospective study by Muntan é-Carolet al that demonstrated new-onset left bundle branch block (LBBB) was an indicator of high arrhythmogenicity after transcathether aortic valve implantation (TAVI).1 Whilst new tachyarrhythmic events were distributed evenly within the 2-year follow-up the majority of new high-degree atrioventricular block leading to pacemaker (PPM) implantation occurred in the initial months.
