Unexpected elevation in valproic acid concentration and agranulocytosis in a patient with short-chain acyl-CoA dehydrogenase deficiency

We report an infant with SCAD deficiency who unexpectedly exhibited an extremely high blood concentration of valproic acid (VPA) and agranulocytosis.
