11. “Difficult to Find, Stressful to Navigate”: Parents’ Experiences With Affirming Care for Gender Diverse Youth

Gender diverse youth (GDY) face significant health disparities which can be mitigated by parental support and access to gender-affirming care. Understanding parents ’ perspectives as they seek guidance and care for their GDY may help improve patient and family experiences with care as well as health outcomes for GDY. The purpose of this study was to explore parent experiences with accessing affirming medical and mental health care for GDY.
