Sleeve gastrectomy may double the risk of esophageal adenocarcinoma in morbidly obese patients.

We read with interest the article “Esophageal adenocarcinoma after sleeve gastrectomy: actual or potential threat? Italian series and literature review” by Genco et al. (1), and we share the concern about the possible increase in incidence of esophageal adenocarcinoma (EAC) after sleeve gastrectomy (SG).
