ConclusionOccurrence ofTBP CAG/CAA repeat length of longer alleles (>  38 repeats) is significantly associated with increased multiple system atrophy risk. This discovery warrants further investigation and supports a possible genetic overlap of multiple system atrophy with SCA17.
