Preserving stem cells and tissue without the freezer burn

(University of Ottawa) Dr. Robert Ben, a professor in the Department of Chemistry at the University of Ottawa, is one half of the brainchild behind the development of ice recrystallization inhibitors, which are small organic molecules that halt ice growth in order to better preserve biological material used in the fields of cell therapy and regenerative medicine.
