Is there a need to widely prescribe antibiotics in patients hospitalized for COVID-19?
SARS-CoV2 infection, also called COVID-19, is an emergent viral infection caused by a similar virus as SARS-CoV1 which was responsible for many cases of severe acute respiratory syndrome (SARS) in 2003 with a high mortality. The SARS-CoV2 was discovered in December 2019 in China (Wu et al., 2020), and is spreading worldwide as a pandemic, reaching France in January 2020 (Lescure et al., 2020).
