Study pins down number of Americans with most common form of lupus

(NYU Langone Health / NYU School of Medicine) Just over 200,000 Americans suffer from systemic lupus erythematosus, or SLE, a condition in which the body's immune system mistakenly attacks its own healthy tissues, especially joints and skin, a new study shows.
