Pulmonary Venous Aneurysm Coiling for Hemoptysis via Known Patent Foramen Ovale
An 83-year-old female presented with hemoptysis and chronic hypoxic respiratory failure complicated by stenotrophomonas infection. A computed tomography angiogram demonstrated a large cavitary lesion in the right upper lobe with a pseudoaneurysm measuring 2.1 × 1.7 cm (Fig 1). Pulmonary angiography demonstrated a right upper lobe pseudoaneurysm (2.6 × 2.3 cm; Fig 2a) arising from the pulmonary vein. The feeding branch of the right upper lobe pulmonary artery was coil embolized with 1 Azur (Terumo) and 4 Ruby (Penumbra) detachable coils (Fig 2b).
