Abstract
To be Black in the United States is to be a minority in almost every context, including in medicine. I will be part of the 2% of physicians who are Black women in a country where 13.4% of the population is Black. I am a medical student by day and an activist by night. As a Black woman in this country, activism feels mandatory. My life could depend on it.
