Assessing the utility of transradial access in the trauma patient

I congratulate the Shock Trauma Vascular Trauma Group for their continued work in pioneering and promulgating innovative techniques in this field and for their recent report, “Safety and efficacy of radial artery access in 65 trauma endovascular cases” by Adnan et al.1 Their findings support my bias regarding the advantages of radial access—in addition to convenience and safety, it has been shown to be cost-effective.2 However, like most aspects of endovascular su rgery the devil is in the details, and I have several questions.
