SARS-CoV-2 seroconversion among 4040 Egyptian healthcare workers in 12 resource-limited healthcare facilities: A prospective cohort study
As of 15 November 2020, more than 54.5 million cases of coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) and 1.3 million deaths have been documented globally (Johns Hopkins University of Medicine, 2020). Severe Acute Respiratory Syndrome Coronavirus 2 (SARS-CoV-2) infection in healthcare workers (HCWs) reports, mainly in high-income settings, varied widely (0.4%-57.1%) with a pooled prevalence of 11% and 7% by reverse transcription –polymerase chain reaction (RT-PCR) and serology testing, respectively (Gómez-Ochoa et al., 2020).
