Evolution in Management Trends of Sporadic Vestibular Schwannoma in the United States Over the Last Half-century

Conclusions: Overall, these data support a progression toward fewer patients treated with microsurgery in recent decades. Radiosurgery and observation became increasingly more common after the turn of the century, possibly due to better detection of small and asymptomatic tumors and a greater understanding of the natural history of disease.
