Why loneliness in America is rising

There are 330 million Americans, yet we ’re lonely and getting lonelier.  Cigna fielded a survey of 10,000 U.S. adults [1] to further explore the impact of loneliness in our culture, and in our workplace. Loneliness in America is up 7-percentage points from 54% in 2018 to 61% in 2019.  Why? Not enough social support, too few meaningf ul social interactions, poor physical and mental health, not enough balance in our lives.
