Carcinoma Mistaken for Periodontal Disease: The Importance of Careful Consideration of the Clinical and Radiographic Findings
This report describes two cases of gingival squamous cell carcinoma masquerading as periodontal disease. The clinical and radiographic features of these two cases illustrate that a thorough evaluation for potentially underlying malignant process should be performed on patients whose conditions are refractory to standard therapy.
