Young haploidentical donor versus fully matched elderly donor: an observational study on patients aged 50 years or older underwent hematopoietic progenitor cells transplantation

The first publication of the experimental study by Nobel laureate Edward Donnal Thomas and his group on hematopoietic progenitor cell transplantation (HPCT) was in 1957 [1]. Since then, HPCT has become a well-established treatment for a wide range of diseases including leukemias, lymphomas, immunodeficiencies and metabolic diseases.
