The impact of periodontal treatment on healthcare costs in newly diagnosed diabetes patients: Evidence from a German claims database
The global-, regional-, and country-level prevalence of diabetes mellitus (DM) have been increasing for many years [1,2]. In 2015, 9.8% of the German population suffered from DM [3] and this is set to increase by 77% until 2040. The expectation is that this will further exacerbate healthcare costs [4,5].
