The Kevin and Avonte Program: Reducing Injury and Death of Missing Individuals with Dementia and Developmental Disabilities

Grant program designed to reduce the number of deaths and injuries of individuals with forms of dementia or developmental disabilities who, due to their condition, wander from safe environments. Funding will be used by law enforcement and other public safety agencies to implement locative technologies that track missing individuals, and to partner with nonprofit organizations to develop and operate programs to prevent wandering, increase safety, and facilitate rescues.
